If I Had a Little Dream by Nina Laden

If I Had a Little Dream by Nina Laden; illustrated by Melissa Castrillon. 2017. Pencil then colored digitally. Published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers.

Brief summary: A young girl dreams of all the possibilities she could have in her world and gives the objects she desires cute, little names. “If I had a little book, I would name it Friend. Friend would go wherever I went, our story would never end.”

Comments: The lyrical style of the words  and illustrations match the dream theme. I would read this to students to boost their imaginations and thoughts of the things around them they can be thankful for having and possibly dream of having one day.
