The Midnight Fair by Gideon Sterer

The Midnight Fair by Gideon Sterer; illustrated by Mariachiara Di Giorgio. 2021. Watercolor, pencil, and gouache. Published by Candlewick Press.

Brief summary: The forest animals wait until all of the people have gone home from the fair and go inside to enjoy the rides and play the games. They leave at dawn when the guard returns to find the place in a mess. The animals celebrate in the forest as they go home eating their fair food along the way.

Comments: This is a story without words that has two page spread illustrations with dark colors as the people from the fair leave, bright colors when the animals are all playing, and then dark again when they are in the forest going home.
